I offer modern nail technology treatments, even those described below as "classic treatments" are state-of-the-art, the "new" treatments are ultra-modern methods that have been available for only a short time. The main benefit of the new gel nails treatment is that it is much quicker than before, obviously that means that it costs less for the client.
I use NSI and OPI products for my nail treatments, which are of the highest quality and safe.
We are now using the new NSI 'Secrets' soak-off gel system for our gel extensions and overlays - the latest in gel technology. They are the same a traditional gels, but can be soaked off instead of being filed, which means less time in the salon for you.

The life of acrylic nail extensions varies greatly from person to person and is dependent upon numerous factors. For example, an individual who carries out manual labour or is required to use their hands constantly in their job will probably find that their nails do not last as long as someone who has an office based typing role which does not subject the nails to much stress or trauma. However, generally speaking I would recommend that you have your acrylics/gels either touched up with infills or removed every three to four weeks.

Removal of nail extensions

This is extremely important and must be done by a fully trained nail technician; it takes time and must not be hurried. Many nail bars and salons hurry this process resulting in terrible damage to the nail and nail bed by rough scraping and pulling. Correctly done you should wait for a good 30 minutes whilst your nails are soaking and the residue then gently removed the better quality the gel and polish used will result in a better removal. Incorrectly removed acrylics may result in nail trauma and could leave the nail beds in very poor and weak condition, so where possible I would always advise you to visit a professional who will carry out the final treatment.

Things to know about Nail extensions
Nail extensions are false nails using either acrylic or gel to create the nail or using plastic tips that glue onto the nail tip and are then built up with either acrylic or gel
The difference between Gel and Acrylic is actually not a lot! Chemically "Gel" is actually really an Acrylic. They are essentially the same product that require different "activators" Gel nails are polymerised by the UV or led light you place your hands under. Acrylic polymerizes when you mix the liquid and powder together and the air sets it.
Both acrylic and gel nails require correct application and removal this is very important as both incorrect application and removal can result in terrible damage to the nails and nail plate. Good products are essential and also correct use of electric files as misuse of files and cheaper chemicals used by cheap nail bars to keep costs down can result in extremely damaged nails. Always get your nails done by a qualified nail technician.
The benefits of gel nails are that they are slightly more flexible than acrylic nails quicker to apply and offer a high gloss shine. Whilst gel can be applied on top of an artificial extension to add length, they are particularly good for individuals who have very short, weak or bitten nails because they allow the nail to strengthen and grow below the layer of gel. The gel applied is odourless unlike the acrylic which is a powder mixed with a monomer which has strong fumes when applying. Acrylic nails though offer slightly more strength but take longer to apply if you’re having them sculpted with a lot more filing. Nail overlays – Overlays skip the extension step, and instead of adding artificial length onto the nail, the strengthening mixture is simply applied directly onto the natural nail in order to add strength and durability. Overlays are particularly good for either individuals who have trouble growing out their natural nails, or for nail biters who have short and brittle nails as a result of their habit.
It is perfectly possible to repair a gel or acrylic nail without removal.
